Upcoming Philoptochos events or projects include:
- Membership Drive: Thanks to all the women who have already joined our Philoptochos chapter. We are continuing to accept membership forms! Forms are available on the Philoptochos bulletin board in the church entry. Completed forms may be returned to Maria Tschetter or Diana Faaborg.
- Poor Box: Please consider supporting the philanthropic outreach of our church through the Philoptochos Poor Box located on the candle stand in the narthex. During May, unless otherwise noted, donations will support the Diaper Bag Project for Life Choices Pregnancy Center. Please make your checks payable to Philoptochos and write “Diaper Bag Project” in the memo line. Thank you!
- Next Philoptochos Meeting: To be determined.
- May Service Project: On May 13th we will be assembling diaper bags to be donated to the Life Choices Pregnancy Center of Northern Colorado, an organization which helps people involved in a crisis pregnancy by providing counseling, medical tests, clothing and newborn baby items. The bags we assemble will be given to new mothers as they leave the hospital with their newborn babies. Please participate with a generous donation of needed baby items (pick up a card indicating your choice(s) at the back of the church) or a financial contribution (make checks payable to Friends of the Poor and write “Diaper Bags” in the memo line) to help with the cost of the diaper bags. All items need to be at the church by May 6th. Thank you for your generosity.
- Ongoing Food Drive Continues: Please remember the hungry! Throughout Great Lent, we will be collecting food donations in the church entry for the Loveland House of Neighborly Service. Non-perishable foods needed include the following: canned vegetables & fruits, soups, cereal, rice, pasta, beans, canned meat, tuna, peanut butter.
- Collection of Other Items: Toiletries, paper products, and baby supplies are being collected in the trunk in the Church entry. The House of Neighborly Service thanks you for your ongoing support!
- Thank you! Through the generosity of our St. Spyridon Parish during Great Lent, we collected 247 pounds of food for the House of Neighborly Service (HNS) and $498 for local food banks which was shared equally between the HNS, the Loveland Community Kitchen, and the Larimer County Food Bank. In addition, we were able to provide assistance to some of our own Parish families. Your continued support of those in need is sincerely appreciated and makes a very real difference in the lives of many.
